Rejuvenation for the Soul | Personal | Weekend Getaway | Williamsburg, VA

Do you ever get that feeling if you don’t get away you’re just going to explode? My husband and I live busy lives. We both have full time careers coupled with two additional occupations- Navy Reservist and Photographer. Add two children to the mix, school, practices, soccer games, and a social life and you start to understand what I am talking about. In my photography world, I’ve been stressed out to the max- in a good way, of course! I’ve had some amazing fall sessions already and I’ve been working on a HUGE project! Yes, one of my business goals for this year was to plan a styled shoot. I am SO excited that everything is falling into place, but I must admit, it is truly hard work. It’s like planning your own wedding! I’ve got some AMAZING vendors on board and have been collaborating with Ali McLaughlin, a sweet friend and fellow photographer. Our preppy and plaid Scottish inspired wedding shoot is just over a week away and I cannot wait to share the images. To relieve some stress, my family and I  headed to Williamsburg this weekend and really enjoyed just “being together.” No time limits. No schedule. NO cooking. No picking up after the kids. I LOVED it and I needed it. Even if it was quick getaway, it’s just what the doctor ordered. When your soul needs a little rejuvenation, listen to it and do yourself a favor – Take a break, plan an escape and soak in what really matters- time with your family. What’s your favorite escape? I’d love to hear!

  • Melinda Snyder - I will have to tell them the great news, Santa!!!ReplyCancel

  • Santa Jack Arthur - Mrs. C and I tend to like to visit Fredericksburg and Alexandria, Va whenever we can spare a moment away from my toy shop and her cookie baking. AND, of course, there are those lists that must be made and checked twice. Now, we proud to say that your two chldren are back on the Nice List!! There was a moment that they were on “The Needs Improvement List” when their bedroom was a bit messy and the toys had been left lying on the living room floor and Mom had to pick them up, but we have been informed by your E.L.F. (Elegent Little Fellow), that situation has improved greatly!! Congrats to them and we will be looking forward to a visit late on the 24th.

Merry Christmas (only 58 days, 12 hours, and 27 minutes early!!)ReplyCancel
